Scan Pokémon cards and see what they are worth

Photograph a card with your phone. We find the exact card among 83,000+ and show the market value, with eBay sold prices and PSA prices where we have them.

A free account gives you 10 scans. With Pro you scan without limit. The scanner opens in your phone's browser, no app needed.

How the scanner works

  1. 1

    Photograph the card

Open the scanner on your phone, place the card inside the corners and tap. It works in the browser, no separate app needed.

  2. 2

    We find the exact card

Name, set, number and variant: a reverse holo and a Japanese print are different cards with different prices, and you see which one you have.

  3. 3

See the value and choose what to do

The market value, with eBay sold prices where we have them. Put the card in your collection or know the price before you sell.

How to take a picture that reads right

The whole card inside the corners, straight from above, no glare. Then we find the right card and the right price on the first try.

Like this
  • Too close
  • Too far away
  • Blurry
  • Hold the card straight from above, not at an angle.
  • Fill the frame, but keep the whole card visible. The number at the bottom is needed.
  • Avoid reflections: turn the card away from the ceiling light.

What you see after a scan

Exactly which card it is

Name, set, number and variant. Reverse holo, full art and Japanese prints are separate cards with separate prices, and you see which one you are holding.

The market value

What the card actually sells for on Cardmarket, with a trend over the last months once we have measured long enough.

Cards and sealed products

The same camera reads a booster box or an Elite Trainer Box and shows the lowest shop price next to the market value.

Your collection, valued every day

Put the card in your collection with one tap. The collection works out what everything is worth today and how the value has moved.

Ready to sell

With the value and the latest sold prices in front of you, you know what the card should be listed for before you put it up.

Which cards the scanner recognizes

The catalog holds 83,000+ cards from every set, from Base Set to the latest releases. The scanner finds the right card whether it is common, holo, reverse holo, full art or illustration rare, because they are priced differently.

  • English, Japanese and ChineseA Japanese print is shown as its own card with its own value, not as the English one with the same number.
  • One card at a time, or a pileScan several cards in a row and review the whole pile before it goes into your collection.
  • Missing rather than guessedIf we have no reliable price for a card it says Missing. We never show a number we cannot back up.

What is the card worth graded?

A graded card is a different item from the same card in the binder. The card page the scanner leads to shows PSA prices per grade where we have enough sales behind the number, so you can see what a PSA 10 fetches before you send anything in. The scanner does not judge condition.

Common questions

Can I scan Pokémon cards for free?+

Yes. A free account gives you 10 scans, and every scan shows the card, its market value and adds it to your collection if you want. With Pro you scan without limit.

Which Pokémon cards does the scanner recognize?+

Cards from every set in our catalog, 83,000+ cards from the first sets of the 1990s to the latest releases, in English, Japanese and Chinese. Common cards, holo, reverse holo, full art and illustration rare are told apart because they have different prices.

Does it work on Japanese cards?+

Yes. Japanese cards carry their set code on the front, for example sv8a, and that is the strongest clue we have. A Japanese print is shown as its own card with its own market value, not as the English card with the same number.

Where does the price come from?+

The market value for ungraded condition is based on actual sales of the same card, mostly eBay sold listings. Where we have them we also show PSA prices per grade. If there is no reliable price we write Missing instead of guessing.

Does the scanner judge condition and authenticity?+

No. The scanner identifies the card and shows the market value of an ungraded card in normal collector condition. Condition, centering and authenticity are for you to judge, or for grading. The card page shows what the same card fetches as a PSA 10 where we have sales behind the number.

Can I scan booster boxes and other sealed products?+

Yes. The same camera reads a booster box, an Elite Trainer Box or a tin and shows the lowest shop price next to the market value, so you can see whether the price you were offered is fair.

What happens to the cards I scan?+

You decide. Add them to your collection, which works out what the whole pile is worth today and how the value moves. For free the collection holds 10 cards, with Pro it is unlimited.

Do I need to download an app?+

No. The scanner opens right in your phone's browser on pokeprowl.com and uses the camera there. If you would rather have an icon on your home screen, Pokeprowl is available as an app for iPhone and Android. You need an account, because every scan costs us a real image analysis and lands in a collection that is yours.
